Yellow Waters
Kakadu - if you haven’t been there, put it on your bucket list. I had another amazing cruise at Cooinda. The weather was quite warm and balmy and there was quite a lot of smoke due to some burning off on the land in preparation for the approaching hot summer months.
This helped bring out the richer colours in the early evening sky. I had every intention of setting up the camera at the wharf as soon as we docked to capture the sunset. What ai didn’t make allowance for were the mosquitoes.
As soon as the boat docked, I found a spot on the wharf and set about pointing the lens at the horizon. The mozzies seemed to be not only increasing in numbers, but in size as well. They were huge !
I was getting hammered by them. I tried covering up as best I could and as soon as I was able to capture a couple of images, I bolted back to the van.
