Tuross River Rush

It was my first trip in the caravan. All this is new to me as I prepare for the upcoming trip so my priorities were to ensure I set everything up correctly. After a half decent sleep, I felt I needed to take a break from what has been a tense few weeks so it was no surprise to me that I sought the solace of what I felt was going to be a quiet, relaxed sunrise shoot. I have been visiting the Tuross River area since my late teens and knew of the bridge and the beautiful landscape around it, so I knew where I wanted to go.

It was a late start for the morning but I managed to get to the pre-determined spot just as the sun decided to nudge the horizon. It was panic stations from the onset and I didn’t even have time for my usual cuppa. I scrambled to grab my camera bag and set the tripod up as I continued to look at the sun’s progress over my shoulder.

It didn’t help that a number of loaded semi-trailers were speeding over the bridge directly above me making one hell of a racket. The noise just made my efforts to stay calm all that more difficult.

Finally, as quickly as it all started, I was ready. I thankfully found a composition ( I didn’t have much choice to find a better one to be honest ) and after settling on my camera settings, I grabbed the shot.

I felt immediate relief in having taken it. The tenseness in my shoulders disappeared and despite it being early and noisy from the bridge traffic, I still managed a smile. Ok, now, where is that coffee ???
