Fallen Child

It was getting quite late in the afternoon and I still had a fair way to go to get back to camp. I was in the High Country in the Snowy Mountains region and as beautiful as it is in the summer months, you could sense just how tough it would be during the cold, chilly and wind-blown months of winter.

There was just something about this scene that had me walking around it for quite a while. Apart from it giving me the sense that it is definitely an Australian landscape, there was something else.

I am finding that on occasions, I tend to now see images within an image. In this composition, the main tree and branches to the right reminded me of a grieving parent. It’s body outstretched, tortured and looking over its child laying on the grass.
