We pulled up to a special place in the Ikara - Flinders Ranges NP, which is located in SA, called Parachilna Gorge. This place is incredibly beautiful. There are iconic red river gums flanked by the ochre-coloured cliffs and dry river beds that are filled with rocks of all shapes, colours and sizes that have been smoothed out over years and years by the running waters of the rivers.

Where we parked up seemed to be some kind of cross roads for the fauna as we constantly had visits from emus, kangaroos, wallabies and as you can see, goats.

It was a dry river bed and on this particular morning, I saw a feral herd of some 70 goats. It was really interesting to see how the mother goat ( or maybe it was the daddy goat ), was teaching young Billy the Kid how to jump and climb over rocks. Yes, there were a couple of mishaps but how else will they learn?

I caught this image a couple of hours after sunrise and just as the last of the herd was leaving the area. Despite them being feral and a pest, they were magnificent to watch.
