Passing Storm
Leaving the main road behind, it took me a further hour and a half to drive on what turned out to be a rough, bumpy and at times, perilous dirt road which took me across a small mountain range.
It took me longer than I had expected and as the sky began to fill with dark clouds, I was worried that I was going to miss out on an early evening shoot. As I approached my destination, things started to go from bad to worse. On my arrival, I was greeted with lightening, thunder and a short but heavy downpour. I thought I had missed my opportunity for an image that I had been planning for two nights.
But as quickly as the storm came, fortunately for me, it passed. Thankfully, the wind was carrying the clouds further south which meant there were openings in the sky - enough for some early evening light to pass through.
Whilst I didn’t have enough time to get to the location along the river that I had planned, I decided to quickly grab my camera and find a composition nearby. Thankfully, I was able to capture this somewhat serene image which, thankfully, defies all that passed before it.
