Distraction

It was one of those days where I was pretty sure it wasn’t going to be a good day for photography. It was cold, overcast and there was a forecast of thunderstorms. However, the wetlands just outside of Albury Wodonga have been a real joy for me so even if there were no opportunities for an image, I still wanted to head out and at least enjoy what the wetlands had to offer.

I walked and walked and virtually everywhere I looked, something was happening. I found myself constantly being distracted to the point of not sure which way I had come. From the relentless oversized mozzies to even the “not so shy” monster of a size kangaroo that was constantly hovering nearby, i was always on the lookout.

So, nothing was really happening as far as a potential for a sunrise was concerned but there were thicker and darker clouds heading my way so i felt it was time to pack up my gear and head back to the car ( if I only knew which way that was ).

Photography can sometimes be like an addiction to me. My thoughts were that if I waited around just a little longer, something might happen. Invariably, it doesn’t but this time, I had a funny feeling things might liven up a little ……. and they did. I set up the camera beside this billabong and things started to happen rather quickly from there on. What a beautiful evening it turned out to be.

Finding my way back to the car ???? Well, that’s another story.
