Intrigued
Pre - sunset on a bitterly cold morning and I thought it would be a good idea to look for some fog. I found myself walking along a winding, part dirt, part gravel track which followed a property fence line. Despite it still being quite dark, I could just manage to make out the local kangaroos bouncing away from me into the nearby paddocks as I headed in their direction.
Even with the first glimpse of morning light I could see that there was little or no fog to be seen anywhere. At that point, my face and fingers were starting to get a little numb, such was the cold. So, I decided to sit on a large boulder just off to the side of the track, crack open the Thermos and pour myself a hot coffee hoping it would warm me up a little.
It took me a while to process what I was seeing. The night sky was making way for the oncoming sunrise and with that, the fog started to roll in along the valley floor. The whole scene before me started to come to life.
I have to admit though, this image was more of a fluke than good planning. It’s really a smaller image within a much larger image that I took. I was intrigued by the bench and table that started to appear on the other side of the fence. Why was it there ? Who would use it ? I mean, it’s virtually in the middle of a large open space and I struggled to justify to myself as to its purpose.
It turned out to be a wonderful morning to be honest. It was great to be outdoors again and I felt I had definitely hit the “reset” button. I was ready to go home.
