Curious

I love interacting with what nature has to offer and I certainly have been able to do that in abundance across the whole of the Flinders Rangers. I found a spot to camp reasonably high up in the hills. It was quite windy, cold and at times uncomfortable but very special as the views were spectacular.

This particular afternoon, the weather changed. I finally had some soft, warm light to play with so off I went in search of a composition. I settled on a shot of the valley below. I was looking through the viewfinder making some final adjustments when I suddenly saw a head pop up from behind the log (adjacent to the big tree on the left in the image).

It was ole mate, Skip. I could almost hear him say to himself “now what’s this clown doing ?” He looked at me and I looked right back at him (with a smile of course) and I have know idea why I did the ole “tse tse tse, what’s up Skip?” ( not sure why I’m admitting that to you but I did anyway).

With that, ole mate Skip jumped out from behind the log and hopped a few paces away from the log. He just happened to land smack in the middle of the image I was setting up. I won’t say he was posing for me but it sure looked it. Who am I to argue, so as quick as a flash, I pressed the shutter and took the shot. As I did, ole mate Skip decided he had enough of this clown and hopped off into the woods.

It’s the little things in life ……………………………………..
