Hidden Falls

I had heard about the Darwins walk which is located in the Katoomba area within the Blue Mountains National Park. Apparently the famous naturalist, Charles Darwin walked this particular track in 1836.

The walk itself is quite impressive as you start the walk along a boardwalk which quickly changes to a natural bush track. It takes you through open forests, bush shrub, and even hanging swamps.

There are so many varieties of birds like honeyeaters, wrens and the ever present black cockatoos that seem to love the banksia trees which are prevalent in the area.

As I walked along the track, I could hear the sounds of a babbling brook but each time I got closer to seeing it, the track took me away from it. Finally, I saw this hidden gem. It’s one of a few magnificent rock pools ( way too cold for me to have a swim ) that I saw along the way. With not another person in sight, I took my time to not only enjoy the scene but to do a little rock hopping to the middle of the creek to take this image.
